Enchanting Georgian day to night earrings with an elaborate Rococo flavor. The combination of soft, feminine colors with luxuriant textures is dreamy, reminiscent of the paintings of Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Pink imperial topaz and lucent white pearls are set in exquisitely lacy 18k gold cannetille tops and drops. Cannetille is a style of metal work that employs intricately coiled gold wire. The wire work is amazingly detailed, tiny wires are curled, piled, and twisted to form complex patterns accented with tiny gold balls. The earrings are closed-back and the topaz gems are foiled to enhance their color and sparkle, as was the style at that time. Day to night earrings, in which small gold hooks and rings are seamlessly integrated into the design of the earrings allowing you to add or remove the drops, create the perfect look for any occasion. Circa 1820.
